ARC review: Blind Faith (Book 3 of the Sin Brothers)

Blind Faith (Sin Brothers, #3)Blind Faith by Rebecca Zanetti
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I got this ARC not knowing it was part of a series, and it didn't get in the way of me enjoying this book. Blind Faith is the story of Nate and Audrey; Nate has 3 other brothers, created in a lab by a 'commander' and Audrey's mom/evil scientist. They are bred 'super soldiers', trained to kill, and Nate is not an exception. He's tender, and loving, and

lethal...

but sweet.
Apparently they escape, and this book is the third one in the series.
I really loved the dynamics of the brothers and how they got along so much, that I now want to read the previous two books along with the next book - Jays. The brother they're looking for.

While trying to locate their brother, Nate goes undercover and ends up in Audrey's life. Her evil scientist mom is super hate-able, and I haven't even read half the stuff she's done to the guys and her own daughter!
OMG do I hate her!! I hope she suffers in the third book!
Nate and Audrey's love is still very much alive, and circumstances take a twist that's unexpected and fun, showing the brothers relationship and sense of loyalty.
I really liked Audrey also; she's smart, spunky, brave, and has a good heart. I felt bad for her, having to deal with such a horrible mother--

not to mention the whole super-soldier/lab/purity freak murderers...despite all, their relationship prevails.
Great suspense, great characters, and very hot sexy love

I can't wait to read the previous two books, and get to know the other two brothers and their stories!

Lover at Last? Barely...

Lover at Last (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #11)Lover at Last by J.R. Ward

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Okay, I had to take a bit of time to write this review. I LOVE the BDB brothers, I really do. Most of all, this was a book I was eagerly waiting for: Qhuay.
Qhuinn and Blay have been friends since they were kids, have been there for each other through thick and thin. I expected their story to be Epic. After all, of all the couples in the BDB series, they were friends first before anything else, unlike the other BDB couples - lust and instinct seems to take place and voila! they're a couple. But not Qhuay. Blay and Qhuinn were supposed to be, for me, the real thing.
After finishing the book, I was a bit, I don't know. Dissapointed.
This book felt like a set-up book: A book setting up other couples for future books; Sola and Assail, Trez and Selena, The Glymera, The bastards, Trez and his Betrothed, drug dealings by Assail, Xcor and Layla, Layla and the Baby, like 15 different POV's in this book...and Qhuay is well, somewhere in there - like. 15% of the book?

But as a true BDB fan, I stuck it out for the payoff, wanting to see these two amazing guys together at last, and I waited and waited, and waaaaited...
Then I blinked, and the book was over; and Epilogue ended with "happily ever after." (Cliche) Like, here you go. Now they're done. Say goodbye.
Seriously.

My reaction to their love story? how do I put this:

I wanted more than occasional hook-ups through the book as filler for other couples starting out. I wanted Blay and Qhuinn to court, spend time together, properly explore each other like Z and Bella, or Rhage and Mary, but nope. Disappointing indeed.
Will I read the King? Hell yes I will! Despite all, the book was interesting, and I love BDB.
IMO Blay and Qhuinn deserved better.

East of Ecstasy - Goodbye Anemoi gods! *sniff*

East of Ecstasy (Hearts of the Anemoi, #4)East of Ecstasy by Laura Kaye

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sniff*, last book in the series but first in my heart!! The last Anemoi god, Devlin, is out to prove he is worthy. Laura Kaye's last installment of the series was by far one of my favorite - right up there with South of Surrender. Oh, Chrysander...

But I digress...
This book is about Devlin and his quest to prove he is worthy of love and acceptance by the other Anemoi Gods. He meets Anna, a beautiful, loving human/gods girl that sees how amazing and beautiful and swoony worthy he really is. I won't lie, if it were up to me, I would have read about Devlin and Anna the entire book...
but since it's the last book of the series, there was a lot of unresolved Anemoi issues to be sorted, which they all are. What kills me as a Laura Kaye ubber fan? That as always, Laura Kaye's writing is amazeballs, creating such lovable, tender, breathing, living characters that I'm not ready to say goodbye!!

and here I am once again, having to part with characters I'm not ready to say goodbye to!!
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE To read a novella on Devlin and Anna alone...It took me forever to read this book! gah! I savored each page, delayed the inevitable; finishing the book. And now that I have, I'm reduced to get my Laura Kaye fix re-reading my old faves like Her Forbidden Hero (swoon Marco!) as I patiently wait for her next book. If you haven't read this series, don't miss out! all the ebooks are on sale, and you can read all four back-to-back -- lucky you!!
